As our 2017 football season comes to a close, I would like to personally thank everyone for their participation in Stamford Youth Foundation (“SYF”) football. SYF started this community football league fifteen years ago and it continues today because of families like yours, our wonderful coaches, volunteers, and devoted leadership. Congratulations to all participants, families, and coaches for another successful football season!!
As we prepare for our 2018 season, I would like to announce that the current directors of the football program, Tony Spadaccini and John Della Jacono, who have devoted countless amounts of time and energy to SYF football over the past decade, are turning the reigns of the football program over to a new group of leaders. We will forever be grateful for everything that Tony and John have done for the league. SYF football would not be where it is today without their tireless devotion.
The new directors of the SYF football program will be Mark Harris, Juan Mendez and Rachel Sherman. As many of you know, Mark, Juan and Rachel have been deeply involved with SYF football over the past several seasons. They are prepared and excited to take on the task of running SYF football, as well as being available to you, as we get ready for next season. I am certain the new directors will continue to enhance the SYF football program to keep our players engaged, safe, and growing into more confident athletes and individuals.
Please join me in welcoming Mark, Juan and Rachel to our Football Leadership Team. They can be reached at
(Rachel). We are all looking forward to a successful 2018 Season.
Finally, note that registration for the upcoming SYF Spring Flag Football Season will be opening soon. We look forward to seeing everyone in the spring.
